Custom commissions

Rings, engagement rings, wedding bands, pendants, necklaces and bracelets. Each commission is developed with you and stays recognisably OKTOBER SKYE. Projects with room for creative interpretation are a particularly good fit. If another jeweller or way of making would suit your idea better, I’ll say so and help point you in the right direction where possible.

No. A shape, colour, material or reference image is enough to start a conversation. References pictures are welcomed for a visual direction; but designs are never directly reproduced.

Sterling silver bespoke commissions generally begin from $750 AUD; gold bespoke commissions generally begin from $2,000 AUD. These are starting points, not fixed prices. Your quote depends on materials, finished weight, gemstones, complexity and the design and production work involved. Shipping within Australia and New Zealand is included in the bespoke price. Shipping to other destinations is added to the bespoke price.

Yes. Another metal, different stones or colours, a finish or a small design variation can be discussed. These changes are priced from the existing design, plus the additional materials and work involved. The bespoke starting prices do not automatically apply.

All metals and gemstones are sourced by OKTOBER SKYE. I can find stones around colour, shape, size, character, budget and the design we’re developing. Client-supplied stones and metal are not currently accepted for bespoke work.

Allow an estimated 6–8 weeks for custom and bespoke work. This is production time, not a guaranteed delivery date. Include any required date when you enquire. Rush work may occasionally be possible for simpler projects and is considered case by case.

A 50% deposit begins the project, including design, sourcing, material purchasing and production. Once any of this work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable for a change of mind. When the piece is complete, I’ll send photographs for your approval. The remaining 50% is then due before dispatch or collection.

For a bespoke ring, have your finger professionally sized by a jeweller before production begins. A plastic ring sizer or any at home DIY methods aren't recommended.

Custom and bespoke pieces are made specifically for you. Once work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable for a change of mind. Any refund beyond the retained deposit is assessed against the stage of the project and costs already incurred.

Custom pieces carry a lifetime workmanship guarantee covering faults relating to how the piece was made. It does not automatically cover normal wear, scratches, dents, accidental or impact damage, stone damage from impact or misuse, natural changes to finishes or oxidation, or alterations or repairs by another jeweller. If something seems wrong, get in touch so it can be assessed.

Yes. International bespoke commissions are welcome. Shipping within Australia and New Zealand is included in the bespoke price. Shipping to other destinations is added to the bespoke price.

Completed custom work may be photographed and shared. If it’s an engagement ring, a gift or a surprise, or needs to stay private until a particular date, let me know so it isn’t shared before then.
